Cinnamon Stars are a typical Swiss-German holiday cookie. They are not only easy to make but their cinnamon flavor, chewy texture, and crisp topping make them an unusual addition and a welcome alternative to the traditional assortment of chocolate and butter cookies. They will keep for many weeks, provided the dough is not made too dry by incorporating more ground almonds than necessary.
