Of all of the holiday pastries and other goodies, gingerbread, and especially gingerbread figures, are probably the most loved. They are certainly among the sweets most closely associated with the holiday season — a decorated gingerbread man or woman immediately makes you think of Christmas — and a large part of their popularity hinges on three factors: they are inexpensive, they are easy to make, and everyone in the family can participate in making them. Even if you are not a great artist,
