This recipe makes striking decorations that are as perfectly flat and smooth as a thin sheet of glass and, because Isomalt is used rather than real sugar, the decorations may be stored uncovered (at normal room temperature) without a desiccant for 1 or 2 weeks without deteriorating or becoming sticky. To make tinted decorations, lightly sprinkle powdered food coloring over the granulated Isomalt in Step 1.
