This is the easiest of the caramel decorations discussed in this section, and it is also the safest to produce, yet the corkscrews look incredibly showy spiraling high into the air. An added advantage is that they can be made from leftover caramel — for example, caramel left after making piped decorations or dipping fruit or nuts — as the caramel must be very thick but still sticky.
