The dark color of the dough makes it difficult to tell when the cookies are done. After the cookies have baked for 12 minutes, use a finger to test if they are firm in the center.

In a bowl, whisk together the 2 ¼ cups flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
