The tart acidic flavour of green apple is beautifully balanced by the sweet aroma of bourbon, and tossing in the walnuts and cranberries brings additional crunch and flavour dimensions. This recipe is one of my favourite cakes to make around the holidays. Topping it with a chocolate bourbon glaze makes it a favourite of everyone.
