Naan breads are found all over the country and are one of the main types of bread served at most meals in India. Naan can be varied by adding your own toppings such as seeds, herbs and chillies. They are the perfect accompaniment for Indian curries and other liquid dishes, and also make a filling snack.
Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl and add the baking powder, salt and sugar.
Mix well, then rub in the butter. Add the milk and mix until a dough is formed.
