Kashmiri tea Tea made with spices is enjoyed all over India, and the regional difference lies in the variation of the spices. During the freezing winters in this Himalayan region of Kashmir, Qahwa is brewed throughout the day to help keep inhabitants warm, as well as for its rehydrating and fortifying effects.

Ingredients

  • 450 ml/16 fl oz/2 cups water
  • 1 cm

Method

  1. Bring the water to the boil in a pan and add all the spices. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  2. Rinse out a teapot with boiling water and put in the leaf tea or tea bags. Pour over the spiced water along with all the whole spices.
