Sherbat is the generic name for fruit-based drinks made with milk or water, and this one, Amer Sherbat, includes a touch of spice to make it extra special. Ready-to-use mango purée is sold in Indian stores, but canned mangoes that have been drained and puréed can also be used.

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1 lb canned mango pulp or 2 x 425 g/15

Method

  1. Put the mango pulp or slices into a food processor and add the milk, sugar and the ground cardamom.

  2. Blend everything together until smooth, then transfer to a jug (pitcher).
