Chocolate and vanilla clearly have their own fan clubs when it comes to sweets, but the swirl gets a serious shortage of love. In this case, it creates a childhood throwback chocolate-milky taste. I rarely see these cookies baked outside of cafés and shops, but there’s really no good reason. You split one simple sugar dough in half to form two flavors, then roll both together and slice into disks. End of duties, beginning of snack time.
