Ingredients

  • 8 oz/250 g caster sugar
  • ΒΌ pint/150 ml water
  • 8 oz/250 g seedless raisins
  • 6 tablespoons rum

Method

Put the sugar and water into a saucepan and dissolve the sugar over low heat. Bring gently to the boil and stir in the raisins. Simmer for 15 minutes. Cool for 2 hours and then stir in the rum. Store in small screw-top jars. Use as a sauce for ices or puddings.
