Method

Crowdy differs from porridge in that it is made from finely-ground meal and no cooking is needed if boiling water is used. For one person, put three tablespoons fine oatmeal into a bowl and add salt to taste. Pour in boiling water and stir briskly until it is as wet as you want it.
