Boil the onions and chop them finely. Mix with the breadcrumbs, sage, egg, melted butter, salt and pepper. Put into a greased oven tin, and spread about half-an-inch thick. Bake at 425°F, 220°C, gas mark 7 for thirty minutes until crisp and brown. Serve with gravy.
