  • 1 large white cabbage
  • 1 oz butter
  • 1 oz plain flour
  • Β½ pint creamy milk
  • Salt and pepper


    Shred the cabbage and put into boiling water. Boil for ten minutes and drain very well, pressing out moisture. Melt the butter in a saucepan and work in the flour. Cook for two minutes and then gradually add the milk and seasoning. Heat and stir for five minutes, and then stir in the drained cabbage. Cook gently for ten minutes.
