Method

This pie can be made with any salt fish, but cod is the most easily obtainable. Soak the fish for twenty-four hours, and then simmer until tender in enough fresh cold water to cover. Remove the bones, and flake the flesh into small pieces. Boil and mash half the potatoes with the butter, seasoning to taste. Parboil the remaining potatoes and cut them into slices.
