  • 4 medium-sized onions
  • ΒΌ pint milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4oz grated cheese


    Peel and slice the onions. Cook until tender in very little water. Add milk and seasoning. Bring to the boil and turn into an ovenproof dish. Cover with cheese and brown under the grill. Serve with bread and butter.
