  • 8oz self-raising flour
  • 1 level teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1 level

Method

Sieve the flour, mustard and seasoning into a bowl and rub in the fat until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the grated cheese and chopped walnuts. Beat the eggs and milk together and add to the dry ingredients to give a soft dropping consistency. Place the mixture in a greased l lb loaf tin, smooth the top and bake in the centre of oven at 350°F, 180°C, gas mark 4 for ¾-1 hour u
