Sieve the flour and rub in the fat. Add the sugar and mix with enough milk to make a firm dough. Turn the mixture on to a floured board and roll out one third of an inch thick, and cut into rounds. Put into a smoking hot frying pan with plenty of bacon fat. Cook until well risen and brown underneath. Turn over and cook the other side until brown. Eat while fresh.
