Sift together the flour, cornflour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, nutmeg and cinnamon. Rub in the crumbled yeast and stir in the sugar. Cut the lard into flakes and work into the dry ingredients. Beat together the eggs and milk and stir them into the other ingredients.
