  • 7oz mixed currants, sultanas and seedless raisins
  • 1oz chopped peel</

Method

Soak the bread in the milk until it is really soft. Add dried fruit and peel, grated peeled apple, sugar, marmalade, flour, eggs and cinnamon. Beat very thoroughly together. Melt the butter and pour half into the mixture. Beat and put into a greased meat tin. Pour on remaining butter. Bake at 300°F, 150°C, gas mark 2 for one and a half hours; then at 350°F, 180°C, gas mark 4 for thirty minutes.
