  • 8oz shortcrust pastry
  • oz butter
  • 6oz light soft brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 4oz raisins
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence


    Line small tartlet tins with the pastry. Melt the butter and mix all the other ingredients together. Fill the pastry cases and bake at 350°F, 180°C, gas mark 4 for twenty-five minutes. Makes 12-15 tarts.
