Core the apples and cut them into half-inch slices without peeling them. Heat 1 oz butter and fry the apple rings golden-brown on one side. Sprinkle with sugar, turn, and fry. Sprinkle with water and simmer three minutes.
Heat the remaining butter in another frying pan. Combine the eggs and milk and dip the bread slices in it. Fry the bread until light brown on both sides, turning once.
