  • 8oz butter
  • 1lb currants
  • 1lb sultanas
  • 1lb raisins
  • 4oz peel
  • 8oz skinned, chopped, almonds
  • 1½lb dark soft brown sugar
  • 2lb apples
  • 12 fl oz rum or brandy


    Put all the ingredients except sugar and currants through a mincer. Mix well, stand overnight, re-mix and put into jars.
