  • 2 lemons
  • 1¾lb loaf sugar
  • 1 pint Boiling water
  • 1oz tartaric acid


    Peel the lemons very thinly. Add the peel to the loaf sugar and pour on the boiling water. Squeeze the juice of the lemons into a basin. Mix the tartaric acid with it, then stir all together. Strain and bottle. Use about two tablespoonsful to a tumbler of water.
