  • 2 tablespoons oatmeal
  • 1 pint hot water
  • Lemon rind
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • light soft brown sugar
  • Blade of mace
  • 1 pint ale, heated


    Boil the oatmeal in the water with the lemon rind and spices and enough brown sugar to taste. When thick, pour into the heated ale, stirring meanwhile.
