  • About

This dish was especially popular during World War II, when there was little to buy in the shops, and it was served as a treat for children. Today, these pancakes are still eaten, and taste delicious with sugar, apple sauce, or sour cream and a dash of paprika.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 large onion, grated
  • 2 eggs

Method

  1. Rinse the grated potatoes and onion, then squeeze in your hands to remove the excess liquid.
  2. Put the potatoes and onion in a large bowl with the eggs, flour, and salt and pepper if serving with a savoury topping. Mix with your hands to combine thoroughly.
