Before I started my television career I used to buy my children fish and chips from an excellent local fish shop. This habit ended abruptly one day when a fellow customer pointed at me and yelled with much mirth, “Ah, now we know what you eat at home.” The overfull shop dissolved in laughter. We now prepare our own and, frankly, I’m delighted.
