Cold roast beef 1 lb. 1 lb. .5 kilo
Gherkins 4 4 4
New Zealand Sauce ¾ cup 6 fl. oz. 170 milliliters


Method of Preparation

Slice beef thinly into 8 slices—halve gherkins lengthwise—prepare New Zealand sauce—preheat oven to 350°F.

Method of Cookery

  1. Wrap beef slices around half Gherkins.
  2. Lay in a shallow casserole.
  3. Cover with New Zealand sauce and place in oven for 30 minutes.


Serve with plain Boiled Rice and, if available, beansprouts tossed in hot butter for 3 minutes only. Best with beer.
