Horseradish, with its nasal heat, has become very popular at The Gate, and we serve it in several different ways. This simple twist on conventional mash is a good way to enliven a meal.

Method

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water for 10–12 minutes or until cooked.
  2. Drain them well for 4–5 minutes before mashing or passing through a mouli.
  3. Add the butter, add the horseradish and lemon juice, and mix well. Season to taste and serve hot.
