We think of biscotti as doggie treats for humans! Once made, they will keep in a sealed jar for over a month, and make a lovely accompaniment to simple desserts such as brûlée or mousse, and of course go beautifully with the morning espresso...


  • plain flour 300 g (10½ oz), sifted
  • caster sugar 200


  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/gas mark 6.
  2. In a food processor, mix together the flour, sugar, eggs, and baking powder. Once the ingredients have been well mixed, place in a bowl and stir in the nuts, ginger, and lemon zest.
  3. Mould the mixture i
