A yeast dough is the base for Chinese bread, for either Plain Buns or Flower Rolls. Sometimes the buns are stuffed with meat, meat and vegetables, or a sweet red bean paste. The Plain Buns and Flower Rolls are traditional accompaniments to red-cooked or deep-fried meats and poultry, such as Red-cooked Fresh Ham or Szechuan Crunchy Duck, and the stuffed buns are popular snacks.
