Yoghurt is one of the world’s most ancient foods. Its health benefits were noted in Indian Ayurvedic scripts dating from 6000 BC; the ancient Greeks pinned its use to ‘barbarous nations’; and the mellifluous ‘land of milk and honey’ in the Bible is thought to be a reference to yoghurt.
