Also called a Pimm’s Cup, this marvellously refreshing long drink was created in the 1820s by Londoner James Pimm at his restaurant. Starting from traditional English fruit cups, which were a mix of fruit, juices, spirits, and sugar, Pimm concocted a gin-based tonic, flavored with fruit liqueurs and herbs, and began selling it commercially in 1859.
