During the cold season, this early-nineteenth-century drink will warm you up. Although it is traditionally served from a Tom and Jerry bowl into Tom and Jerry cups, any bowl and mugs will work. Don’t beat the egg whites here to stiff peaks. All you need to add to the batter is some volume. You don’t need structure, like you would for a meringue.
