Apple Hot Toddy

Adapted from one of the oldest cocktail recipes, this version omits the mashing of the apple into the drink, drawing a majority of its apple flavor from the brandy instead. Feel free to mash the apple into the drink if you’d prefer. If you opt for tradition, keep the peel on, as it contains a good deal of the aroma and flavor of the fruit.
