Peel six oranges, removing every particle of pulp. Slice nicely and place in a dish, and sprinkle over them the granulated sugar. Set aside for several hours to make a Syrup. Squeeze the juice from the remaining six Oranges and add to the Syrup formed from the other Oranges, which must be carefully drained of all Syrup. Add the water; mix well and strain. Then turn into a freezer and freeze till light frosting appears. Serve in small glasses.
