Method

Boil the rice until it becomes very soft and all the water has been absorbed. It then looks almost like porridge. Transfer it to a flat dish that can fit inside your steamer. Make the top of the rice level with a spoon; the rice should be piled about 3 cm/a little more than 1 inch thick. Cover the rice with foil, put the lid on the steamer, and steam for 20–30 minutes.
