These Indonesian batter cakes are filled with sweetened grated coconut, and are usually wrapped in banana leaves for cooking. As banana leaves, fresh or frozen, are now easily available in many Asian shops in the West, you may prefer to use these instead of ramekins; they give a subtle aroma to the cakes as well as saving the washing up.
