Ingredients

  • Noodles
  • 2 tablespoons fat or butter
  • cups walnuts, grated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 lb. plum butter

Method

Follow direction for making Noodles, using 3 eggs and salt and flour in proportion, cutting noodles ¼ by 3 inches. Cook in boiling, salt water, (1 teaspoon salt to 1 qt. water), 5 minutes and drain through colander. Heat the fat in a spider, add the noodles and cook only long enough to absorb the fat. Mix cups of the walnuts with the sugar and cinnamon.

Into a well greased baking dish place ½ of the noodles; spread the plum butter, thinned with hot water, over this, sprinkle with ½ of the nut mixture. Add the rest of the noodles, sprinkle with the rest of the nut mixture. Bake ½ hour in a moderate oven. Remove from form, strew with the remaining nut meats and serve hot.
