  • ½ lb. prunes
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Boil prunes, following directions. Stone and rub through colander. Mix and mash well with juice, add sugar to taste and flavor with lemon juice or rind or cinnamon. Use mixture for Pie or Kuchen fillings and in place of preserves in Turnovers or Kipfel. If used for pie, have upper crust or add whipped cream sweetened and flavored.
