Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 scant cup sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • Whites of 2 eggs
  • 1⅔ cups flour
  • 2 teaspoonfuls baking powder
  • Flavor with orange or lemon extract or grated rind of orange or lemon

Method

Cream butter and sugar; sift flour and baking powder three times, add alternately with the milk a little at a time; fold in very stiffly beaten whites of eggs and ice top with Orange Icing.
