  • heavily scented rose petals, red or deep pink
  • granulated sugar

Method

Spread the rose petals in a single layer on a clean tea-towel or kitchen paper and leave to dry for 12 hours. Put them in a food-processor with the sugar, using one part rose petals to two or three parts sugar, and process until the mixture is well blended.
