  • 2 lb braising steak, cut into small chunks

  • Fry the onions until light brown in the oil.
  • Add the tomatoes, ginger, garlic and spices (except garam masala).
  • Cook for five minutes over medium heat, then add beef.
  • Stir and cook for three minutes.
  • Add water to cover the meat and cook (covered) over medium heat for an hour. Check to see if it is drying out; add water if it is
