Method

These onions are delicious served with steak or roast beef.

Peel the onions leaving them whole. Place in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Add salt and bring up to the boil. Simmer gently for about 15 minutes, or until the onions are tender. Test with the tip of a sharp knife blade. When ready drain from the water and keep the onions hot.
