  • 2 lemons
  • few cloves
  • 2 oz (50 g) lump sugar

Method

A traditional Christmas recipe. Served warm this is a wonderful drink for a party.

Stick one of the two lemons with cloves and roast in a moderate oven (350°F, 180°C or Gas No. 4) for 30 minutes. Rub the lump sugar over the remaining lemon to take up the oils from the skin. Place the sugar in a large serving bowl along with the juice squeezed from the lemon. Put the port into a saucepan
