Method

This is a dish to try when fresh purple figs are available. The other fruits used are ripe but firm pears, white muscat grapes and the sweetest black or red grapes you can find. Peel, core and slice the pears lengthways, and arrange in a shallow bowl. Cut the figs into quarters or eighths, peeling only if necessary, and place in the bowl, together with the grapes.
