When I asked my nan to share this recipe, I didn’t tell her it would be featuring in a book for fear she’d say no. As it turned out, her reluctance to share was because she thought it couldn’t really be called a recipe as it’s so simple. She’s got a point. However, it’s a delicious midweek dinner that is similar to a goulash with a moreish, rich sauce. It also requires very little effort and, other than the beef, you’ve probably got it all in the cupboard already.
