For the Tadka

  • 10 g cumin seeds
  • 50 ml vegetable oil
  • 10

Method

Fry off the cumin seeds in a little vegetable oil until they start popping. Add the mustard seeds; again cook until they start popping. Add the shallot and fry until golden brown. Add the garlic and cook until soft.

Add the green chilli and fry until soft. Add the turmeric, followed by the chilli powder, and fry for 5 seconds. Do not burn. Add the chopped tomato and cook out for 30 seco
