Penang is a Malaysian city strongly influenced by Chinese history and culture. The Chinese culinary influence is particularly robust. I must admit that my partiality for Malaysian food stems from its clear affinity with southern Chinese traditions.
I particularly like the Malaysian rice noodle dishes, and here is a savoury version which is easy to make and quite delicious.
