Chocolate is rarely found on Asian menus or in homes. However, now that Asians have tasted this very western flavour, it has become very popular. In this classic chocolate cake, I have combined it with candied ginger to give an eastern zest to this western dessert. Serve it with Lemon Grass Crème Anglaise. It is also delicious with double or clotted cream.
